  • The Great Wall of China is the longest wall in the world.(biggest architecture artifact)It is 13,670 miles long.It was built to protect China to defend it from the attacks of the huns. Some has disappeared or are ruins. The section in Beijing is the most preserved area.Most of the wall seen now was built in the Ming Dynasty  (1368-1644)

  • The Terracotta army located in Xi’an is made up of 7,000  life size statues of soldiers and horses. The statues were discovered in 1975 when digging up a well. They built a museum there for the statues. In the museum the statues are arranged in the battle formation.

  • The forbidden city in Beijing once a palace where ordinary people were not allowed to enter

  • Look at Hong Kong from Victoria Peak. You can see the city of Hong Kong from here. There is a railway that goes up there (the Peak Tram.)

  • The west lake in Hangzhou which is nicknamed as China’s “Paradise on Earth”There are mountains on three sides. The scenery is amazing.

  • The Temple of Heaven is in Beijing. In the Ming and Qing Dynasty they held the Heaven Worship ceremony there. The northern part symbolizes heaven and is semi-circular. The southern part is a square and symbolizes Earth. The structure represented the ancient Chinese belief that heaven is round and Earth is square. Also that heaven is high and Earth is low. There are sections of the temple the Circular Mound Altar, The Imperial Vault of Heaven, Danbi Bridge, Altar of Prayer for Good Harvests, Palace of Abstinence, Divine Music Administration, and the Heaven Worship Culture.
